It may not look that high from this photo, but I assure you, when every two steps forward takes you one step back, climbing a sand mountain like Big Daddy in the Namibian heat was quite a challenge for me. I'm not in the best shape and there were some who weren't sure I could do this climb without a cardiac emergency, but I kept at it, and reached the middle peak (where we turned off to get to Deadvlei) out of breath but damn proud of myself.
